Third Star

Every once in a while, I'll find a movie that makes me think. Well, yesterday I found Third star.
If you look up the summary it'll say something about four friends(James, Miles,Davy and Bill) taking a trip. What the summaries fail to mention(at least all the ones I read) is that James is terminally ill. The movie is both humorous and heart wrenching as you watch the four friends deal with the hardships they are faced with as they make their way to Barafundle Bay(somewhere in the UK- might be wales) a place that James so wants to see again.

Living life to the fullest and not wasting what precious time we have left on this earth are Just some of the themes that Third Star layers in.

(Benedict Cumberbatch as James)

"So I raise a morphine toast to you. And, should you remember that it's the anniversary of my birth, remember that you were loved by me and you made my life a happy one. And there's no tragedy in that."- James (Third Star, 2010)

This quote happens near the end and at least in my case, stuck with me.

If you have the time, please go rent a copy of Third Star. You won't be wasting your time.

  1. Third Star certainly sounds like a thought wrenching flick. I love a movie that makes you want to read "the book" even if the book does not exist.
